Orthopedics

Our clinic specializes in various approaches to treatment of orthopedic injuries. Treatment can include conservative methods to help relieve pain and improve function when surgical methods are not indicated. We treat all manner of conditions affecting the joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves. We apply a multitude of strategies to address impairments causing pain and dysfunction and to prevent the risk of re-injury.

However, there are also circumstances in which orthopedic surgery is necessary. It can be performed on most joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. Most surgeons will recommend physical therapy following orthopedic surgeries. In some cases, your surgeon may also recommend physical therapy before surgery in order to improve outcomes by addressing strength and range of motion deficits.

There are several different types of orthopedic surgeries that physical therapy can help with including but not limited to:

  • Rotator Cuff Repair
  • Shoulder Labrum Repair (SLAP)
  • Shoulder Replacement
  • Total Hip Replacement
  • Total Knee Replacement
  • Arthroscopic Joint Repair
  • Knee Meniscus Debridement / Repair
  • ACL Reconstruction
  • Revisions to Total Joint Repair
