Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization is various soft tissue techniques that involve applying direct pressure to the skin and muscles with a specialized tool to desensitize injured areas and increase blood flow to the tissues. This stimulates healing and encourages the damaged tissue to remodel. This is good for decreasing pain and sensitivity and increasing mobility.
