Arthritis

Osteoarthritis is a natural part of aging and regularly occurs asymptomatically but can also be a common cause of pain. The rate of arthritis increases as we get older and can make it difficult to perform work and recreational activities. Research has shown that up to 27% of people will develop hip OA and up to 15% of people will develop knee OA in their lifetime. Other common areas to develop OA are in the shoulders, neck, and low back.

Osteoarthritis can cause stiffness within the affected joint and weakness in the surrounding muscles. We use a combination of treatment techniques to address each individual’s specific impairments, including:

  • Strengthening Exercises
  • Stretches
  • Manual Therapy
  • Cardiovascular Training
  • Modalities for Pain Relief
